Mad Tats Son

Another long night in work, another bout of contemplating getting a robot tattoo. If I come across somewhere dodgy enough on holiday I'll probably get one done, and get some form of infection. I just don't want a rough metal-faced lesbian in Belfast to do it

Well Dressed Robot About Town

Well, for the first time ever, blogheads, this blog is nearly up to speed with my pantings. Aww, no, don't cry, there there Takeover fan(s?), there's a few biggies I've yet to blog and definitely a few that have been skipped along the way and a good few watercolour sketches that have yet to be seen, and I'm still painting new ones as we speak (I know, I know, we don't speak, I just type.)

Anywho, this is a robot I did a few months ago now as a comission to someone who's always given me good business. She only specified that a Union Jack had to be on it, so instead of going down the Loyalist mural route, I tried to give it a Swinging-Sixties-London-Kinda-Vibe, and paint a gentleman robot (N.B, NOT an Orangeman.)
I pondered how to do this for a while, then I decided I would do the background in the same style as I did one before, with triangles of different colours, but I tried to make the flag look as if it was waving.

Pedal To The Metal Little Robot!

Sometimes I try and play the guitar, but I'm very out of practice and I suck, not in a modest "I'm actually quite good and I wanna surprise you with my hidden talents" way, I really, really suck. But I'd been looking for a cool retro grunge pedal off eBay and I found this one, which is awesome. Doesn't frigging work though :_0

Robot Discrimination Nation

My friend went to a musical in grand old London town, apparently they had this sign there;

Which is ok by me, cos I hate musicals, people singing at me makes me very unnerved. Although I could write a musical just to overcome this discrimination, using the music of the Human League, the greatest electro-synth group of them all!

Art Shows That I Don't Go To

Over a year and a half ago now (yikes, time flies) I got asked to do two small pictures for a charity show. I have absolutely no idea what happened to these, I called in and asked a few times but nothing ever came of it, so if you ever see them, let me know.
The first one is kind of an old theme but I had a plan to play it safe with one robot, then go mad with the other. If I remember rightly I did this one in a night, and was pretty damn chuffed with it. (Sorry for the bad pics but I had to take them off a site for the gallery, you'll prob have to zoom but I don't wanna ruin already terrible picture quality, mine's third down in the fourth column.)
For my second painting I was at a loss of what to do for a long while, and I think I did this painting the night before I had to have it done. I just kept thinking, " I wanna do something really different, I just wanna tear it up!" So in the end I thought, that's exactly what I'll do. I didn't literally tear the canvas, didn't have time to work out the logistics of all that, so I just painted it as if the robot was, and gave it some silver and the codes motif I was mainly using at the time.
Obviously mine's the one in the middle here, second column, third row down. There was some nice stuff in this show, went in and took a look once, but I didn't go and do small talk and scmoozing at the opening, not my thing in any way, I'm here for the robots love.
